About Us

Farida Ismailova and Aida Ismailova (Ismailova Twins) are twin filmmakers, animators and artists from Latvia. From an early age they showed great interest in art and filmmaking. From 2008 to 2012 they studied at Janis Rozentals Riga Art High school, where they graduated with a diploma in animation. From 2013 to 2017 they continued to pursue their creative career professionally by attending in Visual Communication department at Art Academy of Latvia for a bachelor’s degree. It was when Aida, one of the twins, first took an interest in screenwriting and ever since she has been telling her own stories. The animated short film Into The Spotlight was their graduation work. From 2019 to 2021 they studied in Motion. Image. Sound department at Art Academy of Latvia for a master’s degree. In their free time, Farida likes to compose music, but Aida enjoys taking photographs.

They speak three languages: Latvian, Russian and English.
